ARAKO is supplying valves for the 1st nuclear power plant in Belarus

Last year, the company ARAKO (belongs to the engineering division of the corporation Rosatom – Atomenergomash) started working on a very important project of valve supplying for Belarusian Nucelar Power Plant. The supplies include more than 2 000 special valves worth about EUR 8 million. The first 350 special valves for nuclear power engineering were already supplied in 2016. However, the most active stage of the project is under way right now.

„During the first quarter of 2017, we delivered 8 loads of valves to supply the first reactor block of the Belarusian NPP and currently we are finishing deliveries for this block – all the valves should be sent to the final customer by the end of March”, says Petr Hlaváč, Commercial Director of ARAKO, and he adds: „Other supplies – this time for the second reactor block of the Belarusian NPP – will follow throughout 2017 with a final delivery in 2018.“

The construction of the first Belarusian NPP situated near to the town Astravets in the northwest of Belarus started on 6th November 2013. The general designer and contractor is NIAEP – Atomstroyexport, a subsidiary of ROSATOM. The first generating Belarusian NPP block is planned to be put into operation in November 2018 and the second in July 2020.28
