Statement on the current situation

Wednesday, 18 september 2024

Dear business partners,

as you have had the opportunity to observe in the mass media, the city of Opava and its immediate surroundings were hit by a devastating, hundred-year flood exceeding in its destructiveness and extent the floods of 1997, which no one expected in the least.

Unfortunately, our company was also affected by this flood and its production area in the centre of Opava on Hviezdoslavova Street was flooded, with all the accompanying phenomena, up to the first floor level. Although our company tried to export as much of the production in progress, materials and machinery as possible, it was not in human power to provide the core machinery and technological security.

We are currently waiting for the water to recede, followed by clean-up and restoration work, after which we will be able to determine the extent of the flood damage and objectify the impact on our company’s operations.

All supplier-customer relations are affected by this force majeure, which could not have been expected and could not have been prevented, and our company is currently unable to guarantee all contractually assumed obligations arising from the concluded contractual relations. Therefore, we would like to inform you about this force majeure and we are ready to deal with the situation on a prompt basis at each specific level.

We want to assure you that all our employees will do everything possible to minimize the impact of the catastrophic flood on production and to restore all processes as quickly as possible. We will keep you informed of developments.
